Plug and Play for Highest Precision

VOUMARD grinding machines rely on drive systems by SIEB & MEYER

20.11.2012 - Technical Papers

Internal grinding processes of fuel injectors used in modern engines require uttermost precision and high process stability. Deviations of only 1 µm, for example, are outside the specified tolerances of modern common rail or FSI engines. The Peter Wolters group specializes in constructing high-precision internal grinding machines. With its VOUMARD precision grinding machines the company counts on the drive system SD2S that is specifically developed for high-speed applications by the Lueneburg based specialist SIEB & MEYER.

It Doesn't Always Have To Be Hydraulics

Optimized performance and energy efficiency in metal processing via electromechanical punching and forming technology

25.09.2012 - Technical Papers

The German company Systeme + Steuerungen based in Grafenau specializes in punching and forming technology offering innovative system solutions. With an electromechanical screw press the company proves that there are powerful and efficient alternative techniques for metal forming beside the conventional hydraulic presses and punches. Drive amplifiers of the type SD2 by SIEB & MEYER operate the electromechanical presses made in Lower Bavaria providing for maximum reliability and energy efficiency of the system.

Feed-in Converter for Small Wind Turbines

04.09.2012 - Technical Papers

When our neighbors in Denmark talk about a "husstandsvindmølle" they refer to a small wind turbine with a maximum height of 25 m and a maximum power of 6 kW that is directly connected to a private household. These small wind turbines are mostly found in rural areas. Today the operation of a small wind turbine is economically attractive and efficient as well as quite simple thanks to targeted governmental aid and feed-in converters especially developed for this field of application.

Electricity Production from Residual Heat

Specialized frequency converters open up new potential in the field of alternative energies

22.05.2012 - Technical Papers

Utilizing renewable energy sources has many facets. Besides the established techniques like photovoltaic, wind and water power as well as geothermal systems, intelligent utilization of residual and waste heat generated during many processes becomes more and more important. In contrast to the process industry, which focuses this issue on a large scale for many years now, the residual heat utilization of small installations e.g. cogeneration (CHP) units represents a comparatively new field of application. Today, systems with ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) allow generating electricity from the residual heat of these units. Otherwise this energy would be wasted. However, efficient utilization of residual and waste heat requires feed-in and frequency converters exactly adapted to the special demands and operating conditions of these processes. SIEB & MEYER has developed a suitable solution based on the drive system SD2.
